Brrrrrrrr BUXTON!! 2016

NANTWICH CONCERT BAND
PLAYED OUR FIRST CONCERT OF THE YEAR AT THE PAVILION GARDENS
IN BEAUTIFUL BUXTON!
ON EASTER BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY

Easter was VERY early this year and the journey there was certainly exciting .......

..... but we at NCB are brave and stoical and maybe a touch crazy? The good old British weather wasn't going to stop us .....
....... but brrrrrr it was very cold on that bandstand!!
Undaunted, in hats, fingerless gloves and as many clothes we could fit under our band fleeces, we played through our programme, given a real lift from four mates of Nick's from the Royal Northern - wow, thanks guys - you can play with us anytime!

1st Set
The New Colonial
Beauty and the Beast
Memory
In the Valley of the Sun
Hymn for Band
Irish Tune from County Derry
Keep Smiling Through
Livin on a Prayer
Hoe Down

2nd Set
Malaguena
Colonel Bogey
Neil Diamond
Happy
Amazing Grace
Thriller
Music

We were centre stage, on the historic bandstand, playing as part of the prestigious 'Bands in the Park' season.

Our unsung heroine was our Muriel (Bb Bass Duncan's mum) who collected money for us from an appreciative (and very hardy) Buxton audience and posted this video on Facebook of us playing 'Malaguena' - here's the link ...

(it makes me cold just watching it!)

Thanks, Muriel!
