MIDSUMMER MUSIC CONCERT 2015

THANKS FROM NANTWICH CONCERT BAND TO EVERYONE WHO CAME TO OUR
'MIDSUMMER MUSIC' CONCERT

It was a GREAT night of exciting music, enjoyed by both audience and players alike and the bands played BRILLIANTLY!
We performed a lively and varied programme ...
... making it a truly memorable evening.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK PART

Our Guests, the Rode Hall Silver Band started the evening off with an excellent selection of brass band music, which really complimented our windband set
We all agreed it was a collaboration we would definitely like to do again

Our own Community Training Band, conducted by D├ębora Schnieder, delighted everybody during the interval with pieces from their repertoire
Nantwich Concert Band proudly took to the stage for the second half,
led by our Musical Director, Nick Birch
Nick has been with us for only ten months but in that time has transformed the band.  The music he has chosen has often been challenging and rehearsals intense but we love working with him and are all so proud of what we have achieved.  He's a very talented musician and we know we are lucky to have him - THANKS NICK!

This is one of the best-known and traditional pieces from the windband repertoire
'Folk Song Suite' by Vaughan Williams
1st movement 'Seventeen Come Sunday'

For our encore, amidst applause from a great audience, the Band finished with one of their all time favourite pieces,
'Barnard Castle' by Goff Richards

A big thank you to Paul and Denise Compton of PD Photography Compton for all the photos and videos of the evening
