Drum Roll ....

Calling all you drummers out there ....

Nantwich Concert Band needs a drummer.  Even though we're a Wind Band, the drum kit is an essential instrument.
If you fancy joining our lively and friendly band and you can play drum kit to about Grade 5 standard and read music, email Miranda.  We even have a kit at the practise room you can use, so you don't have to transport your own.

You would need to be available every Wednesday evening in Nantwich for our weekly practice sessions and also able to play at gigs and concerts throughout the year.

Why not get in touch?  Join the Band!

Wayne's Ultimate Sacrifice

The lengths people will go to for the good of the Band!

Our hero, Wayne Williams, father of our youngest band member clarinetist Jasmine, has shaved of his magnificent beard.  With encouragement from his family and workmates, (many of whom didn't think he'd go through with it) Wayne lost the beard and donated the sponsorship money he received to the Band.

'I've had this beard for years' says Wayne (we actually think he may even have been born with it!)  - certainly, none of his friends have ever seen him without it - until now!

Wayne's brave and generous gesture raised £190!!!

The money will go towards our fund-raising efforts to buy new uniform and music.

The whole Band says
'THANK YOU WAYNE!'

Our Nick's a Star!

Our Musical Director Nick Birch will miss the regular weekly rehearsal with Nantwich Band on Wednesday because he has a very important rehearsal of his own to go to.

On Saturday 11th October, Nick and his euphonium will be performing with the Fairey Band at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain!  Next Wednesday's rehearsal will be the important final one before the big day!  The Fairey Band won the North West Regional Competition in Blackpool back in March to qualify for the final.

The top twenty bands from all over the country will travel down to London to compete at the Royal Albert Hall - just like in the film Brassed Off.

Good Luck Nick we're proud of you!   All of us at Nantwich Concert Band wish you and the Fairey Band all the best.
